The Story of The Gram
The Gram logo was created in memory of Jeremy’s mother, Dawn Briese. Grandma Dawn, lovingly known as “Gram” to her grandchildren and friends.
Every birthday card or letter she sent carried her special signature: her name followed by a smiley face wearing a single feather. That simple drawing represented her joy, her heritage, and her spirit.
A descendant of the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation and a lifelong teacher of tradition, Gram dedicated her life to preserving Native American culture and history. She worked with the American Indian Council and later with Yosemite’s Archaeology Program. She was instrumental in starting the Fresno State University Grandad Archaeological Field School, opening her property in Mariposa County in the Central Sierra Nevada foothills so students could gain hands-on experience, opening a window into over 10,000 years of Sierran prehistory.
The Gram logo carries that legacy forward.
